Mini Crystal Cell #7

April 8, 2015 – Crystal cell #7.  I made a very small cell to see how the voltage differed from the larger ones.  I used a 1/2 inch copper end cap.  I used the heat method to set the powder and for the magnesium core I used some of the thin ribbon.  This was some ribbon I got online and it measured about .116 inches wide and 0.011 inches thick.  I used a one inch piece and it stuck up over the top about 1/2 inch.

When it was made, I immediately got 1.409  volts and it climbed steadily for about 5 hours to a high of 1.951 volts.   It then started to drop until it stabilized in a couple of hours at 1.46 volts.

This was so very close to the results with crystal cell #6 which I also made today.  I also monitored this cell for about a week without a load and it too seemed to go up and down like #6.

It seems that the size of the cell or the size of the materials I used made no difference in the output voltage.  My guess is that the current is what will be different.
